The Emmett Butler Memoirs

This document is a memoir co-written by EMMETT BUTLER, one of the original Butler Brothers and later president of the Butler Brothers Construction firm, and Larry Fitzmaurice, a journalist and personal friend. The memoir document consists of an introductory letter written by Fitzmaurice, followed by twelve chapters. The memoir vividly details the lives of the various Butler Family members, the business activities of the Butlers, and life on the Mesabi Range where the Butlers were involved in iron mining.

We now have two different versions of the Emmett Butler Memoir- an edited version which appears below and an earlier undedited version which is displayed here:
