Saint Paul City Directory and Census. Charles Johnson was born in Sweden in 1845 and emigrated in 1872. He was first hired at the Capitol in 1899 as a carpenter and worked there in 1900 as an iron worker. He became a foreman and was a member of Carpenters Local 87. He lived at this address into the 1920's.
