1904 City Directory. Alexander Kaar (also spelled Carr or Karr) was born in Austria in 1856 and emigrated in 1852. He and his wife, Anna, raised a large family in this house though Alexander died in 1910.

1905 Payroll, 1904 City Directory and Censuses. Joseph Wiltner was born in Austria in 1846 and emigrated in 1868. His daughter, Augusta Tate, also lived here. He worked for many years as a laborer on the Capitol and named his occupation as "marble cutter" in 1900 and "marble finisher" in 1905. He stayed on at the Capitol as a janitor and his daughter, Augusta Tate, got a job there as a "scrub woman." His son, John Wlitner Jr. also work on the Captiol construction as a laborer.

1900 Census and Newspaper reports. Florian Zauner (aka Florane Zauner) was born in Austria in 1858 and, according to his naturalization papers, came to America in 1893. He died in a fall at the Capitol on August 4, 1900. He was unmarried and the location of his grave is unknown.

Alexander Carr was born in Austria in 1856 and emigrated in 1882. He and his wife, Anna, raised a large family here in St. Paul.
