1903 City Directory. Carpenter George Anderson was born in Denmark in 1851 and emigrated in 1878. He and his wife, Mary, raised a family in St. Paul while he worked as a carpenter. Anderson lived a long life and was still living in St. Paul at the age of 85 in 1940.
1902 Beam painting payroll. Frank Carstensen worked as a painter employed in rust proofing beams though he always named his occupation "carpenter" for the censuses. He was born in Denmark in 1871 and emigrated in 1895. He and his wife, Ester, also Danish, raised their family in St. Paul while Frank worked as a carpenter.
1905 Payroll and 1899-1903 St. Paul City Directories. Anton Rondberg (or Romberg) was born in Denmark in 1870 and emigrated in 1891. In the 1900 Census he lists his occupation as Railroad laborer. In the 1902 CD he is again working for Butler-Ryan and listed as Anthony Rondberg. He is found in a April 27, 1902 Payroll for extra work when he was part of a select crew that spent that day, a Sunday, setting the statues, Courage and Integrity, and getting double time pay.
This is approximately where 203 Norris St. used to be-it is now under the freeway. Thomas Tromberg was born in Denmark in 1866 and emigrated in 1882. He joined the Tilelayers Union on August 3,1900 according to a report in the St. Paul Globe. He is found in San Francisco in the 1910 Census working in a marble yard.

Charles A. Nelson was born in Denmark in 1871 and came to America with his parents in 1875. He worked as a "sawyer" at the Capitol, probably on a stone sawing machine. By 1910 he had a job in a St. Paul cigar store.
